$17 Million Hush Money Claim

     Factcheck.org recently fact checked a Candace Owens statement saying that, "$17 million in taxpayer money been spent on sexual harassment settlements for members of Congress" The article is framed as to lead you to believe that Candace lied about the 17 million number but in fact 17 million was allocated but not all was used for sexual harassment cases but sexual harassment and other types of cases. The sentiment that a great deal of money for sexual harassment settlements is true. 

     This type of fact check is very misleading as to put the statement maker in a bad light, we find the sentiment, "Millions spent in hush money for sexual harassment" to be true, Candace did not lie or intentionally mislead, the number itself may be technically inaccurate but we find this to be just an error in the numbers gathering prosses and not an attempt to deceive.
